We are delighted to share a selection of Elizabeth Gill's work: "Cycle Manchester: Portraits of Cyclists in their chosen location and their experiences" published in a book on ISSUU. 

In her introduction, Elizabeth writes:

We are longing for more sunshine. The mustard coat certainly helps! Plus I find mixte frames to cheer me up no end... is it just me?

As a fellow female cyclist, I would like to point out the excellent example of riding in a skirt with dark tights, probably the most comfortable set up + safety in knowing your modesty will not be compromised!

Heels and Bicycles - a match made in heaven

Often, well nearly all the time, we get asked "How can you cycle in *those* heels?"

Well, we'll let you into a little secret...

Cycling in heels is easier and more comfortable than walking in them. Indeed! You push on the pedals with the ball of your foot, therefore the heel does not hinder cycling.

Walk 10 minutes in heels and your legs will be killing you, cycle in them and you'll arrive at your destination as fresh as a rose!

It's all about... Albert Square!

Now that I have discovered the perfect sunny bench in Albert Square, I have found that it's also a perfect place to spot many great cyclists.

This is what I captured sitting for just 10 minutes on a sunny Sunday.

Chilled cycling... why be in a rush on such gorgeous day uh?!

What a great junction view! No cars, just bikes.

Matching your top to your handle bars... must be cycle love.

So after about 4 weeks a non-stop rain and autum-like weather, the sun has finally returned.

Unfortunately armed only with my camera phone, the quality may not be great, but still expresses a nice stream of bikes.
